Brooke
Royster started studying dance at the age of six under the
direction of Ray Hollingsworth at Ray Hollingsworth Dance and Theatre
Arts Center in Jamestown, NC. During high school, she studied under
Leslie Lamb Nagle at Jamestown Dance Theatre. There she found her
passion and love for teaching dance and began her teaching career.
While a student at Jamestown Dance Theatre, she competed, performed,
and attended dance seminars and competitions throughout the Southeast
and competed in the DTI National Finals in Daytona Beach, Florida.
To further her dance training, she took classes at Broadway Dance
Center in New York City. She graduated with honors from Guilford
Technical Community College in 2005 with a degree in Office Systems
Technology.
Brooke has taught at The Greensboro
Dance Theatre since 2002 and teaches ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and
lyrical. She enjoys watching her students grow with their self-esteem,
technique, and performance skills. Her goal is to enhance the full creative development of
her students. Her expertise lies in knowing how to bring out the best
in her students, and she joins with them as they delight in their accomplishments. She
loves to share her love of dance with her students and brings fun and
